Melvin Crispell III Scores First No. 1 on Billboard Gospel Airplay Chart

BET “Sunday Best” winner (Season 9), Melvin Crispell, III earns his first No. 1 Billboard Gospel Airplay chart with “Wonderful is Your Name”. The upbeat praise anthem moved up the chart reaching the #1 spot (dated Aug. 21) on its 28th week on the list.

A memorable classic hit originally written by his late father, Melvin Crispell, Jr. “Wonderful is Your Name” is featured on Crispell III’s debut full-length project with RCA Inspiration – I’ve Got a Testimony.

Taking to Instagram to share his delight, Melvin Crispell III remarked; “W O W my very first billboard #1 my emotions have been everywhere. God is just so good. I can’t thank him enough, this is a result of waiting and trusting in God.”

Recall in 2019, the gospel newcomer earned the “Sunday Best” title after emerging winner of the BET singing competition, which also came with receiving a recording contract with RCA Inspiration and cash prize.
