Kanye West: “I am running for President of the US,” Rapper Announces
Hip Hop icon and Rapper, Kanye West has taken to twitter on America’s Independence Day (July 4) to announce he’s running for President. The news which caught many by surprise is already sparking trending discussion on social media.
“We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future” West tweeted, “I am running for president of the United States ?? ! #2020VISION” He Added.

This announcement comes shortly after the American rapper’s latest single “Wash Us in the Blood,” lifted from his upcoming tenth studio album, God’s Country – a follow-up to his much-talked-about gospel album, “Jesus is King“.
– Late 2018, Kanye tweeted about feeling reconnected back to his faith in Jesus Christ. According to him, this happened when Chance the Rapper demanded they did a record together.
Early 2019, West formed his “Sunday Service Choir” group, performing gospel songs and covers of songs from his discography. This lead to his ninth studio album was re-announced as ‘Jesus Is King’, then the choir album ‘Jesus Is Born’ was then released on Christmas Day, 2019.
