Health Update on Gospel Singer Earnest Pugh
The EPM Music Group and P-Man Music Group would like to express sincere gratitude for the heartfelt prayers and messages of concern regarding the recent illness of gospel music singer, Dr. Earnest Pugh.
While on a recent promotional tour, Dr. Pugh experienced a medical emergency resulting from food poisoning and dehydration after returning from a trip abroad. Under the advice of highly capable physicians and Pugh’s management team, he is currently resting and undergoing treatment so that he can resume his travel schedule and continue to serve as Senior Worship Leader at Village of Faith Church in Richmond.
Councilman Rev. Dr. Michael Jones, Senior Pastor of Village of Faith Church, said, “Dr. Pugh is always an intense worshipper. When we noticed a difference in his energy, we assumed it was simply due to his exhaustive travel schedule. We are prayerful for a speedy recovery and anticipate that he will be back on schedule soon.”
Pugh was slated to attend the 103rd Hampton University Ministers’ Conference in Hampton, VA this week, but his recent medical setback and need for rest, prevented him from attending. “I knew that I didn’t feel like myself while in Pine Buff, AR, last week, but thought that I would be able to rest after the Ministers’ Conference and a Worship and Arts concert nearby in Newport News, VA,” Dr. Pugh adds. “Unfortunately, I was unable to endure beyond the Sunday morning service at Village of Faith.” Dr. Debra Huggins, Chaplain of Hampton University, prayed for Dr. Pugh during a recent service at the conference.
“I am so grateful to Dr. Debra Huggins for lifting up a such a powerful and spirit-led prayer. Every time I see it on social media, I feel God’s healing power and strength,” Dr. Pugh says. “People have been reaching out on social media and from across the globe, and I’m so humbled. I’m especially thankful to my Village of Faith family. Pastor Jones and Dr. Willard Maxwell have prayed for me and stayed in constant communication regarding my progress. It means the world to me.” Pugh plans to reschedule the concert in Newport News, VA, and looks forward to returning to his travels and continuing to promote his latest single, “I Need You To Breathe,” currently ranked at No. 14 on Billboard Magazine’s Gospel Airplay Chart.
In the meantime, Pugh has delayed the release of his ninth album, “Fully Persuaded,” which was originally scheduled for an early June release, until he can get back on the road and promote it. “I can stand on the warranty and authority of God’s words in Mark 4:22 where it says,` And being beautifully persuaded that what God promised, he will perform.”
