BET Awards 2020: Kirk Franklin Wins Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel Award
Congratulations are in order yet again for gospel music icon Kirk Franklin. The platinum-selling artist won the Dr. Bobby Jones Gospel, Inspirational Award at last night’s BET Awards for his song “Just for Me.”
Hosted by Insecure star Amanda Seales, the 2020 BET Awards award show was presented virtually due to the global pandemic and lockdown.
“Just For Me” marks Kirk’s second nomination from his chart-topping album LONG LIVE LOVE, following his 2019 BET Awards nomination in the same category for the hit song “Love Theory.”

Earlier this year, the prolific songwriter bagged two Grammy Awards for “Best Gospel Performance/Song” (Love Theory) and “Best Gospel Album” (Long Live Love).
