19 Year-Old Jekalyn Carr Earns Two Billboard Music Award Nominations
19 Year-Old GRAMMY-nominated independent recording artist Jekalyn Carr received her first two nominations for the upcoming 2017 Billboard Music Awards, that was announced yesterday by the leading trade publication. Carr received honors for Top Gospel Artist and Top Gospel Song for her smash hit single “You’re Bigger,” which spent four weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Gospel Airplay and Digital Gospel Songs Sales charts and was the 2nd Most Played Gospel Song of 2016 according to Billboard Magazine Year-End charts.
2017 has been a big year for Jekalyn Carr thus far, receiving her first-ever GRAMMY nomination for “Best Gospel Song/Performance” (“You’re Bigger”) and five Stellar Gospel Music Award nominations.
This singing sensation is gearing up as a featured artist on the upcoming highly anticipated 20-city Bloody Win Tour w/ Tye Tribbett, JJ Hairston and Tasha Cobbs and the 16-city McDonald’s Inspiration Celebration Gospel Tour alongside Donald Lawrence, Bishop Paul S. Morton, Brian Courtney Wilson, Anita Wilson, Paul Porter and Tye Tribbett.
Carr is also preparing for her upcoming fourth album, One Nation Unto God, slated to be released Fall 2017 and will also appear in two upcoming featured films, a guest appearance in an upcoming episode of OWN’s TV series Greenleaf and she’s releasing her first book this Summer entitled, You Will Win.
